Lurie Children’s Hospital

Located in the heart of Chicago’s Streeterville, Lurie Children’s Hospital features a unique truss and cantilever construction. Complex Structures Group notably employed a panelized floor system erection plan to erect the entire 11th floor cantilver in a single pick. The 360 bed tower offers over 1 million square feet constructed with 11,000 tons of structural steel beneath a mirrored skin. Fittingly, pediatric patients named the two onsite tower cranes, “Hope” and “Courage.”
