Since the early 1980s, CSG has worked with defined contribution plan clients including profit sharing, money purchase, and 401(k). With the evolution of participant-directed 401(k) plans, CSG has recognized the importance of both education at the participant level and fiduciary protection at the plan sponsor level.

CSG plays an integral part in the communication and education programs of its clients’ plans. We specialize in discussing investment basics, advanced investing, general investment option characteristics, and sophisticated performance analyses of investment funds. CSG works with many bundled providers in a team approach, where CSG and the provider work together to meet all the needs of the client as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The plan sponsor has a great deal of responsibility in selecting a plan provider and plan features, including the "menu" of investment options: loans, brokerage accounts, matching, etc. The sponsor has a fiduciary responsibility to its employees to select the best provider and plan options consistent with today’s environment and level of technology. The question is how does the plan sponsor know it is selecting the most appropriate provider, education program, and fund options for its plan?
